Hot Glass Class

I had always wanted to try my hand at Glass Blowing and finally got the chance through a RISD-CE class. After sitting in front of a computer for months, it felt great to make something physically again particularly in a new medium. I’ve always been an advocate for attempting things outside of your usual comfort zone for the experience alone, 2000 degree glass inches from my hands was certainly outside my comfort zone, but not any more.

As a side note the following images were taken with an infrared camera, hot glass naturally has a subtle red glow, but the infrared photographs heat, so if it looks white hot… it is white hot.
