Let there be Light

My high school art teacher, Bruce Dean, had visited my three man RISD senior show ‘Three Gentlemen’ a few months earlier, and told me of the gallery/learning space he had been setting up, the Visiting Artist Center in the Bernat Mill.

Bruce was kind enough to offer me a one man show at the Visiting Artists Studio Gallery.

Just to go a little over the top, I began the art show with a parade of my friends down the street from about half a mile away with cameras, noise makers , costumes and torches to announce the opening.

The parade was alot of fun, and we were only stopped by one police officer wondering what was going on…?

As a foot note, this art show was in the Bernat Mill that would later burn to the ground 9 years later in 2007… when I was having another art show.
